If the issue is periodic, it may be caused by a corrupted places database. The “places” files store the bookmarks, favorite icons, browsing history, cache, etc. To create a new places database, follow the steps ahead:

·         Open your profile folder. To do it, first, click on the hamburger icon (menu button) and select the Help, then click on the Troubleshooting information. Now, the troubleshooting window will open.

·         Click on the Open folder under the Application Basics section,

·         Now, go to the Firefox hamburger and choose the Exit option.

·         Next, find and rename the files places.sqlite to places.squlite.old in the Firefox profile folder,

·         Finally, re0launch your Firefox browser.

Hint 2: Turn Off Hardware Acceleration

When using graphics card and driver setups, you may get the issue of Firefox not opening. You must try turning off hardware acceleration to check if it fixes the problem. How you can do it is by navigating through the following steps:

·         On your Firefox browser, click on the menu button and select “Options.”

·         Click on the “General” panel.

·         Under the Performance tab, uncheck the box that says – Use recommended performance settings.

·         On opening the additional settings, uncheck the “Use hardware acceleration when available.”

·         Now again, click on the Firefox menu and select the “Exit” option.

·         Start Mozilla the way you usually do.

Hint 3: Delete Duplicated Session Restore Files

Your Firefox may slow to respond if multiple copies of its session Restore file have been created. Hence, you must delete the sessionstore.js file and any copies related to it.
